Teen Program
♪ Note: This is a separate class from Music Theatre.
Students Eligible:
Open to ages 13 through 19 – age as of June 30, 2009
Program Includes:
- one 50 minute class per day to learn and rehearse the teen dance number
- daily recreation and evening activities with teen group
- accommodation in Teen Dorm
♪ Teens will participate in the teen dance number, directed by Jim Selway and Erik Thor, and presented on Friday night.
♪ Teens will have special activities planned just for them including a movie night in downtown Kingston, teen barbecue, and a dance and “slumber party” on Friday night after the performances. Teens will attend the Thursday night student recital as a group.
♪ Teens will be housed in residence at Queen’s University and are supervised by professional teen counsellors Ric Cox and Callaway Scott.
Required dress for the dance production is
- long sleeved white dress shirts or blouses
- dark pants or skirts (preferably just below knee length) and
- suitable shoes for dancing (no platform shoes, sneakers or flip-flops).
Requirements for teen program:
- Parents who are not attending Suzuki Kingston Musicfest must appoint an adult who will be attending as guardian for their teenager during the week.
- The Waiver & Release and the Teen Health forms will be mailed to you after we receive the student’s registration form. Both forms must be signed by the teenager’s appointed guardian in attendance and must accompany the final payment.
Failure to comply will deny the student participation in the Teen Program.
